Dear Praying Team-mates!!!
I can't believe how difficult it is to sit here and try to put in to words how the Lord has worked in this ministry over the past several weeks. We stand in awe of how He orchestrates things… beyond anything we could ever coordinate ourselves.
This past Tuesday, December 20th, 16 days before our departure to Costa Rica where we had confirmed plans to train in the National Police Academy with the National SWAT team, our entrance into the academy was DENIED. A very last minute decision by the “Director of Police Affairs” was made, which in essence closed all doors for our January trip to take place in the country of Costa Rica.
Condensing this story a great deal…
Three days later, ABWE team-mate Larry Smith, (Central America field director) located in Managua, Nicaragua, hand carried our Team TACTICA ministry overview, training agenda and our resume to the top official in the Nicaraguan national police academy. (an incredible story of God's sovereignty goes along with this contact, as well!)
After many nights on our knees in prayer, crying out to God, “Lord, WHERE are you directing our family?” “How are you going to make this out-reach take place?” We poured our hearts out to God, asking for His perfect will to be accomplished in regards to this police ministry and in regards to our family's commitment to full-time career missions.
GOD HAS PROVIDED A WAY!
We told the Lord that if this trip were to ever work out, being that this cancellation happened so unexpectedly and so last-minute, it would only be because of His mighty handiwork. We were asking for a miracle.
This afternoon we received an official written invitation from the Comisionado Mayor, Douglas Largaespada (chief governmental official over-seeing the national police academy of Nicaragua) to provide police tactical training in the National Police Academy of NICARAGUA from January 9 -13th, 2006.
PRAISE THE LORD with us! God has provided our family clear direction, and has miraculously made the connections between our team and the Nicaraguan police a REALITY! God is so good.
Concerning these last minute changes, there are several details that must be seen to. Please pray for the following:

· We are in need of 4 translators! (our translators from C.R. will not be able to travel to Nicaragua)
· WE must arrange, (QUICKLY!) transportation for the week!
· We must cancel hotel reservations, and make NEW hotel reservations in Nicaragua!
· We must carry highly sensitive (and very COSTLY) equipment over the Nicaraguan/Costa Rica border. This is never easy.
PRAISE God with us!
· God has expanded the Team TACTICA (Teaching Authorities Christian Truths in Central America) ministry beyond Costa Rica into NICARAGUA!
· God has provided for 10 plane tickets to fly from C.R. to Nicaragua - even last minute… and at a rate that is not unreasonable!
· Our faith and love for God has grown immensely!
· Larry and Bev Smith, ABWE Nicaragua, have been a priceless help-mate to us as we now work to bring the Gospel of Christ to the Authorities of NICARAGUA!!!
· God has provided for our family financially in ways we never imagined possible. About 10 minutes after receiving confirmation of the flight plan and the cost associated with it, we received news that a check had already been sent to us by a church (that we have not even presented our ministry to!!!)… in the exact amount needed to cover this unforeseen expense! Only God could have known!!!
