We are working in many ways to meet the people's spiritual needs here. Here is a list of some of the things we are doing and hope to do. If you feel the Lord calling you to work with us in any of these areas, please contact us!

How You Can Be Involved -

• With God’s calling come here for a short or long term mission.
• By supporting through fasting and prayer. (Just e-mail us and we will send you a monthly newsletter with prayer requests.)
• By being involved in the letters project.
• By adopting a missionary family (through prayer, encouragement, visits, or financially)
• By adopting a specific ministry.
• By motivating churches, organizations, and individuals to get involved.
• By helping the impoverished through the organization “Hope for the Community"

Coming up this summer, we would like to be able to have a summer camp. We are also hoping to have youth and family conferences.

Missions -We are hoping to develop a short-term missions effort. Teams that come to work with us might help with evangelistic tent meetings or street meetings in the summer or meetings in the village culture houses in the winter. We'll also work to encourage the small churches here and to start new ministries in towns that have not yet been reached.
    We plan to establish a mission home for the teams or missionaries that come to do short-term work with us, so they don't need to stay as guests in a families home, or in a hotel.
    We also would welcome long-term missions to work with us here.

Christian Training/Church Planting - We need workers to help us train the people we've set up as our contacts in the villages. They need training specifically in establishing churches.

Ministry Partners - We are looking for American and English churches to partner with us in our many different ministries. Each church could maybe be partnered with the efforts in two or three villages.

Orphan's/Children's Ministries - We would like to start the AWANA program in the villages. Reaching children through the AWANA program would be a wonderful way to spread the Gospel in the villages.

    We also hope to start a christian kindergarten in Draganesti. We would like to reach the children of very poor families through this effort.

Christian Media - We would love to be able to share the Gospel through christian tapes, videos (especially the Jesus film), and books. We also pray for a christian radio station that could reach many people in this area.

Tax Incentives - Olt County is considered a depressed region economically; therefore tax relief or reduction is available for future entrepreneurs wanting to start a new business here. This could be a tremendous incentive for someone wanting to invest in a Christian endeavor.

Potential Business Opportunities -

• Recycling of plastics, glass, cardboard and paper - This could involve the local municipalities, merchants and businesses. This would greatly clean up area roadsides and benefit the environment. For example the many plastic pop bottles which are used once and then discarded, could be collected and shredded to make plastic drainage tile, Etc for agricultural use. Glass and cardboard could be recycled and reused again, saving natural resources.
• Milk pickup and transporting - Again the regulations on selling un-pasteurized milk will soon change with entry into the EU. This will mean an end to the existing practice of a household supplying milk to their neighbors. Processing in government-inspected facilities will be inevitable. Transporting milk from a central collection station to a processing facility is also a possible activity.
• Establishing a local abattoir for cattle and pork processing - With entry into the EU, government food processing regulations will in time tighten significantly. No longer will every household be able to butcher their own animals, but be required to take the animals to a government-inspected slaughterhouse. This abattoir could also have a retail counter to sell meat products, cheese to local consumers. Milk pickup and transporting
• Landscaping and septic system installation - In the Draganest-Olt area the availability and possibility of renting a backhoe is next to zero. A landscaping business could incorporate the backhoe into its daily operations, but also rent it out with an operator, to local customers requiring excavating. With the economy improving in Romania, more people will want to upgrade their properties with the use of a landscaping contractor. Also as government regulations change with regard to households having proper waste disposal systems, a licensed septic system installation company would be in much demand.
• Bottled water and ice making business - As more people become concerned that local drinking water is not safe to drink, they will turn to bottled water. This bottled water could be available for use in rented or purchased water coolers to businesses and households. If a properly tested and approved well was drilled, this water source could be used to supply the needs of this business. Transporting of the water to area businesses and retailers could also be incorporated. The production and sale of ice could also be available.
• Restaurant or deli - A clean, reasonably priced, non-smoking environment could be provided which would cater to students and local business people. This establishment could provide take out or eat in service with a relaxed atmosphere with Christian influence. Healthy eating such as salads, soup and sandwich combinations, etc. would be a welcome change.
  

We are open to work with evangelical Christians from other countries. We do ask that any volunteers or other workers that come to us respect our culture here in Romania. If you do come to work with us, please be open to learning about our country and our people. And of course, any who come to work with us must agree with our doctrine. As Paul said "with the Jews I am like the Jews", we hope you could say, "With the Romanians I am like the Romanians."
