Charles’ Testimony
I was born and raised Roman Catholic. I believed in God, but
did not realize till I was in high school, when I heard a
clear presentation of the gospel, at a Catholic Church youth
retreat, that I needed to trust in Christ personally, as my
savior. I learned that I was saved by grace, through faith.
That was awesome news to me because I had always thought that
I had to be a really good person and do good things to go
to heaven. I trusted Christ at the time I was making my Catholic
sacrament of confirmation. I knew then that I needed Christ,
and before the ceremony, in a secluded area by myself I prayed
to trust Christ as my Lord. I still did not know too much
about the Bible and was still going to the Catholic Church.
After my wife and I got married and she too trusted Christ,
we left because we came to understand that not everything
the church taught was biblically correct. We looked at many
churches before we found Waxahachie Bible Church. It was there
after many years of studying God’s word that we prayed
about being involved in missions.
Bridget’s Testimony
I was born and raised Roman Catholic as well. I thought I was
a good person and at one time I had even thought God wanted
me to be a nun. I never realized early on that what he wanted
was for me to have a personal relationship with him as my Lord
and Savior. When my husband and I first met, he had presented
the gospel to me. I had an emotional reaction, but still did
not realize that what Christ had done was for me, personally.
After we had been married a while, my husband’s mother
(who previously trusted Christ) came to visit us one time and
she shared the gospel with me. When I heard about what Christ
had done for me personally, I trusted Christ.
My husband and I then left the Catholic Church and proceeded
to look for a church where we could learn about God and the Bible.
When we found WBC we knew the Lord was there and He was teaching
us many things about Him. We started to have a heart for missions
and prayed that maybe one day God could use us in missions. The
Lord led us to serve him in several ministries and missions and
in helping to train others to learn and know His word.
