I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it.

Ulibarri Update - June 2010

Dear Family, Supporters and Friends,

Thank you for your patience with us. Sorry it has been so long since we have written. Actually we have tried to go and send e-mails several times the last couple of weeks but it appears that the phone company here is having lots of problems and the internet has been really slow to non-existent.
We were able to send out a few updates but not sure if all of you got them. We are also trying to put some updates on facebook as opportunity arises.

As you may know we have now been back to Equatorial Guinea for a month. And what a month of experiences we have had! God has really taken care of us and we are so grateful to Him.

To recap all this months experiences I will list them:

When we first got to Bata from our flight from Malabo, Bridget was lifting up one of the suitcases to show the officials and I guess she was turning as she was lifting and heard a not so good pop in her back. She had been in pain for the first couple of weeks. She has is a lot better now though.

Other than that we have had a very interesting first week. After being back here a few days, we realized that many of the things we had left here were moved around or not here and we are not sure why, so that was kind of discouraging, but after several weeks of looking all around the center here, we think we have found most everything.

We had to wait about a week before we could get our drivers licences, but we have them now and some official copies and have been able to drive without any problems.

We also had to get some work done on our car before we could drive it: battery and some tires.

Charles had lost his cell phone the first week we were here, but by God's grace we were able to get it back.

Charles has already had a bout with malaria that lasted almost a week, but he is doing much better now. Praise God.

Charles, Sami and Patrick one Sunday evening had some neighbors come over to threaten all of us. Please pray for Pastor Sami as he has to deal with all these things.

That was our first full week back in EG.

On some good notes Charles is already visiting and doing studies with the TEE students. Also this past week we signed up 3 mores students as well. This will be interesting because we are hoping to move away from the city, so we are also trying to determine what is the best way to meet the students reviews while we are traveling back and forth from the interior. We had one student that had completed the course when I was in the U.S. and he has been helping supervise several students; we are still evaluating how that will work out.

Our daughter Brianna is doing good. She is on summer break from school still and has mostly been working on her art.

The biggest news is that we have been able to drive to the interior a few times these last couple of weeks to look for a house and a place to stay. We went last Tuesday and a Baptist pastor helped us find some rental houses. We looked at a few and one looked very interesting. Just yesterday, Tuesday June, 1st, we went back to the interior and met with the same pastor and he had helped us talk to the landlord of the one house and it looks like we now got a house to rent in the interior this next year. We are really excited because it has lots of rooms and we are hoping that we can have some visitors this year. Praise God for getting us a place at a decent price that has room and looks very promising. We are going back this Friday to meet with the landloard and sign the rental contract. We may also stay there this weekend and see if we can some a few things moved and organized. Please pray we have a good reppor with our new neighbors and that we are able to get Bridget going soon on her ministry there.

A lot of what happens to us here in EG will depend on how the status of our house in the U.S. is. As many of you know we have a house in the Midlothian area that we have been trying to get rented since March of this year. Last we heard it is still not rented. Please pray that it gets rented soon. If it does not we do not think we can pay rent here and pay for a mortgage in the U.S for very long.

Please continue to pray for our son Micah. We have really missed him and because the internet is so bad here we have not really gotten to talk with him much since we have been gone. We were very thankful last Saturday he was able to call us by telephone and talk for a while.

Thank you again for all your thought and prayers. We are sorry we cannot write more frequently. We hope you will continue to write as we are very encouraged when we hear from all of you.

Thanks and God Bless,

Charles, Bridget and Brianna Ulibarri
