Romans 1:8
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.

Previous Missions

Charles and Bridget have had the privilege of being on some short term trips before the time the Lord called them to be involved full time in the ministry to Equatorial Guinea. Please read about how the Lord used those experiences to bring us to serving Him in EG.

In ’99 Charles went to San Louis Potosi, Mexico with the youth group from Waxahachie Bible church. It was a good trip that let Charles get a small taste of cross-cultural missions. For two weeks, along with the group there, Charles participated in some street evangelism , which included playing praise and worship music, skits and preaching. The group also did some construction work with some of the churches there. Sharing with the youth from the church there was also good as, Charles and the other adults there were there to supervise the youth on the trip. It was a really wonderful trip and really helped Charles to know that the Lord wanted him involved in missions work. It also helped Charles to see how the rest of the world lives, as to what we are used to in the United States.

Over the next several years Charles was not able to go again to Mexico but worked with the youth in helping them prepare for their trips.

In 1997 Bridget had the opportunity to go on a short term trip with GMF to Russia. She went with the group as was able to work sharing in some children's Bible studies. She really enjoyed sharing with the Russian people and learning about their culture. Again Bridget learned a lot by seeing how people in this part of the world lived.

In 2002 Charles and Bridget had an opportunity to travel together to see the work going on in Equatorial Guinea. Allen and Betty Pierce invited the Ulibarris to come and see the work going on at the language center. This was really an awesome trip because we were praying at the time about being involved full time in missions . Not many people get an opportunity to go and visit a land that they may be able to go and work in before they go but we know God wanted us to see the tremendous needs there. We were able to go for about a total of a month, including travel time and were completely blessed with this trip. The trip was not just to visit the work, that Bible translators Allen and Betty Pierce were doing in EG, but also to help in some construction of a dorm building at the center. Charles also was able to help many missionaries there with some computer technical support. It was truly a blessing to see how the people of EG wanted to know and learn more about the Bible. We were encouraged by their hospitality and their warm and friendly smiles. Charles was able to talk with many people in Spanish, but not in the Fang language. Bridget could understand what they were saying and was able to pick up a few words in Spanish and Fang.

After the trip we knew that God wanted us to go there full time. After seeing the needs for literacy and leadership development we understood that God had been preparing us to go. So when we go back Bridget attended the GIAL school at Wycliffe to learn about setting up a literacy program for the country of EG and Charles continued in his studies at the bible institute at Waxahachie Bible church.

In June of 2003 Charles was given the opportunity again to go to EG with a college age group from WBC. The group went for two weeks to Bata and stayed with Allen and Betty Pierce. The trip concentrated on evangelism to different villages all around the country. The group was able to go and do similar to what Charles had helped with in Mexico several years before. They went to villages and church in small towns and put on gospel presentations. The group would go out into the communities and pass out tracts and invite the people to the presentation. During the presentation the group would sing praise songs, in Spanish and then do skits and then preach a message, that would expound on the biblical truth that the people saw in the skit. This took quite a bit of time because most of the group spoke English, that was translated into Spanish, then into fang. Praise the Lord, many people came to trust Jesus Christ during those presentations.
